Hi I’m Brooke and I tell feminist, working class and LGBTQ history to horny men against their will. They hate it!
Make America Learn History Again is my history Substack, but when I’m not telling men history, I enjoy trolling men, scammers and MLM boss babes in other delightful (for me) ways. You can find those posts on my Substack Let’s Not Date
A little about me:
I’m 36 years old and I have hit the wall.
I live in a state of disarray and anxiety, but also Wisconsin.
I have four kids. (Yes. I know. That’s so few kids.)
It’s tough to choose what my most redeeming quality is, but I get dizzy and cry a lot.
If you say a joke to me there’s a 90% chance I’m not going to know you’re joking.
I like to read old non-fiction books, journals and newspapers especially if they are primary sources on a topic, because it feels as if I’m talking to people long dead. I said I like to do this, but what I really mean is I am absolutely obsessed with reading quotes from dead people.
I like sparkling water and falling in love, not necessarily with the water.
You may follow me from my social media pages Let’s Not Date. (You can find all my links here.) I truly mean the “not” in my name and my handle here. This is not a Substack about dating. None of my messages come from dating sites. The name comes from the original game of my Facebook page which was “At Let’s Not Date, the game is to see how many strange things you can say before the dude in your inbox stops trying to ‘date’ you.”
You’re unlikely to see me writing about dating specifically, beyond to discuss non-traditional and non-monogamous relationships.
Being a woman on social media, I often would get unwanted sexual messages from men I didn’t know. At first, LND was just a silly exercise I did where I tried to make them feel just as uncomfortable as they made me. It spurred from a fear of men, but they don’t scare me in messages anymore. I have the power. As the page grew, that evolved into new games, especially as I found others enjoyed history as much as I do.
Now I very rarely take messages from my real Facebook profile simply because it’s so linked to Let’s Not Date. I’ve shifted focus to make sure I get the right kid of man who needs a history lesson by using a troll profile of a SATIRICAL conservative babe. I switched my satire profile to filtered pictures that look nothing like me for my safety after a dangerous Republican man disclosed his plans to shoot Democrats to me, and I had to contact the FBI. Now part of the joke is how ridiculously fake I can make ‘me’ look without them noticing that is not what women look like.
You can follow my satire profile on Facebook at Brooke America. Feel free to join in but don’t spoil my fun by sharing the secret.
My Substacks are mainly about anything that pops in my head with an emphasis on feminist, working class and LGBTQ history, silly nonsense that portrays the way old men prey on young women, and commentary on social, political or otherwise important issues of today.
𝗙𝗿𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗹𝘆 𝗔𝘀𝗸𝗲𝗱 𝗤𝘂𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀:
⁉️“I don’t think this post is funny. Why do you call yourself a comedian?” /“Why is this post about a serious topic when I followed you for comedy?”
Okay
⁉️“Do you hate men?”
No. I’m telling men history. Why do you think that’s a punishment? You should never assume I’m messaging the guy to mock him. I’m just talking. It’s entirely up to him how he responds, and to be honest, the men who respond decently get way more positive attention than they deserve.
⁉️“I do not find you attractive. Why do these men hit on you?”
Okay
⁉️“Are all of these messages sent to you?”
All of my posts are my own work. Not all of my messages are recent. I repost old conversations from prior years for your entertainment.
⁉️ “Why are you doing this?”
It’s important. Some posts showcase the insulting way women are treated, but in a way people are likely to read. Some tell important history. Some posts are just light hearted and make you laugh, and laughing is important. Most of all, I’m doing it because they don’t want me to. All the men who come here to yell at me because they are upset that private conversations in which they treat women like sexual objects, all of those men are why I can’t stop.
⁉️ “Are these real converstations?”
Yeah. I mean they are serious. I’m not really a conservative but hopefully you figured that out by now. I very obviously do edit them though. All of my images are multiple screenshots edited together with timestamps removed to make them aesthetically pleasing. If he sidetracks too much or sends a bunch of “heys” on repeat, I sometimes cut that out, my pieces are long enough as is.
⁉️“Is this a page about you trying to find a boyfriend?”
Yeah but all these men I want so badly keep blocking me. Alas.
How can you support me?
The best way to support me is to subscribe to my Substack. Paid subscribers get to read extra history stories no one else can see, until I put them in my book. Substack subscriptions are either $5 a month, $50 a year, or $100 a year.
Regular paid subscriptions are $5 a month, $50 a year or $100 a year.

Backup Facebook (It’s a long explanation as to why my backup page has more followers than my main page. Facebook has made me switch back and forth depending on which page they felt like restricting at the moment. You should follow them both just in case.)
Thank you all for being here and helping me try to reach my dreams.
You are fighting the good fight, Brooke — and doing it hilariously.
For the record, the face on the left is, by far, the more attractive!
Your page was one of the first I stumbled on when I first discovered Substack and one of my first paid subscriptions because I could not get enough. I love what you do. It's both hilarious and educational. And, having existed as a woman in online spaces for longer than I care to admit, I've seen more than my share of men behaving exactly the same way so it's lovely to see a little retribution.
